CENTRAL DALMATIA’S BEACHES
Beaches on the Sibenik, Trogir, Omis and Makarska Rivieras are among the most stunning on the Adriatic. Rocky, sandy or pebble beaches, secluded and tranquil beaches or beaches with numerous sporting facilities, restaurants and cafes - something to suit everyone's taste. | |
SIBENIK RIVIERA Pirovac, Tisno, Tribunj and Vodice, Sibenik, Brodarica, Grebastica, Zaboric, Rogoznica and the islands of the Sibenik archipelago - Kaprije, Zlarin, Zirje, Prvic and Krapanj
The Sibenik Riviera consists primarily of two types of beaches: rocky beaches in small inlets with few houses and pebble swimming beaches in larger centers. Apart from the public beach in Sibenik itself, there is also a well-kept swimming beach in the Solaris tourist complex, where you can find restaurants, shops, beach volleyball and other sports terrains, as well as rental of water sports equipment.
Rogoznica has several beaches: the main pebble beach in the place itself is ideal for children's play due to its shallow waters. It is surrounded by restaurants and cafes, stores and pastry shops, therefore, the atmosphere is always lively. Besides the main beach, there are also several rocky beaches, mostly surrounded by dense pine trees, so besides suntanning on the white rocks you can also find a nice place in the shade.
The pebble beach in Primosten lies close to the waterfront with its many restaurants and stores. The promenade will lead you to many secluded swimming places.
The famous, 4 km long, well-equipped and well-kept Plava pebble beach extends from Vodice to Tribunj. Besides Plava beach, there are many smaller pebble beaches in Vodice. In Vodice you can attend diving or windsurfing courses, while in Tribunj you can take part in an underwater photo-safari. Grebastica, Brodarica and Zaboric, with their pebble beaches, are great places for tranquil holidays. The summer houses in smaller bays usually have private rocky or concrete beaches. Zablace is known for its medicinal mud.
Secluded, rocky and sandy beaches in small bays await you on the islands of the Sibenik archipelago - Murter, Zlarin and Prvic.
TROGIR RIVIERA Vinisce, Marina, Seget Vranjica, Donji Seget, Trogir, Ciovo, Gornji Okrug, Donji Okrug, Slatine
Trogir Riviera belongs to the most indented parts of the coast; small inlets with smaller and larger pebbles that are separated by rocky capes - great for suntanning and diving. We recommend the Ciovo peninsula to those looking for beautiful sandy beaches. In Gornji and Donji Okrug and Slatina, there are sandy and pebble beaches, while magnificent sandy beaches can be found in certain larger inlets. You can reach secluded bays and capes on the Ciovo peninsula on foot or by car. These bays and capes are surrounded by pine trees and usually consist of smooth rocks that lead right to the water. The beaches by the summer houses in Vinisce, Kalebova luka, Kanica and Razanj are rocky or concrete. The city of Trogir has a pebble public beach with a variety of additional entertainment facilities and many restaurants and cafes in the vicinity. The beach in the Medena tourist complex in Seget offers numerous water sports, diving and windsurfing courses as well as equipment rental.
OMIS RIVIERA Supetar, Dugi Rat, Duce, Omis, Mimice, Marusici
The Omis Riviera is known for its large sandy beaches. The sandy public beach in Omis, with its many restaurants, cafes and stores, is nearly a kilometer long and its 700 m long, warm shallow waters are great for children's play. Many sandy beaches, several sandy and pebble inlets as well as tranquil, secluded beaches can be found close to the fishing settlements from Dugi rat to Duca. The entire Omis Riviera is known for fresh water springs, the best example for this is the place Vrulje.
MAKARSKA RIVIERA Brela, Baska Voda, Makarska, Tucepi, Podgora, Drasince, Zivogosce, Drvenik
The 60 km long Makarska Riviera is dotted with numerous pebble beaches, known for the smooth white pebbles and sandy areas. Some of the beaches extend for kilometers, like the one from Brela to Baska Voda. In the vicinity of popular beaches in larger centers, there are restaurants, pastry shops, stores, hotels and sports terrains. Due to the fine pebbles, spacious beaches and the pleasant shade of century old pine trees, we recommend the Makarska Riviera to families with children and those looking for wonderful, well-maintained beaches with a wide range of additional facilities. Besides spacious beaches, Makarska Riviera has many secluded beaches surrounded by lime-stone rocks. The diving and sailing clubs in all larger places organize summer diving, sailing and windsurfing courses, and offer water sports equipment rental. In addition to all of this, the Riviera has a few nudist beaches and health tourism facilities.
