| | Vrsar (Porec)
|
| | Vrsar is a tourist destination placed 9 km south of Porec on the west coast of Istria. It has been inhabited since prehistorical times, while it was an export harbor of Istrian stone in antiquity. In the Romanesque period, this architecturally interesting place turned into a fortified medieval town where nobility and bishops had their residences. The Limski channel, a fjord that was proclaimed a nature park, lies only 3 km north of Vrsar. Restaurants within the park offer traditionally prepared fish. Vrsar has one of the most beautiful archipelagos, consisting of 18 uninhabited small islands rich in Mediterranean vegetation. Explore these islands by motorboat that can be rented in Vrsar. Vrsar is ideal for family and active holidays due to the possibility of sailboat, windsurfing board, paddle boat and bike rentals, tennis courts and additional facilities.
We recommend: The Limski channel / Porec / The Monte Ricco archeological site / The Vrsar Kastel, an old hilltop fortification / St. Mary's Basilica from the Romanesque period / Dvigrad - where you can catch a glimpse of life in a medieval town and see the walls of 220 stone buildings
How to get there: 3 km north of the Limski channel on the road towards ... branching from the Buje-Pula main road
