| | Zivogosce (Makarska)
| | | Zivogosce, first mentioned in the 16th century, is one of the oldest settlements on the Makarska Riviera and lies only 17 km from its center, the town of Makarska. Although the inhabitants of Zivogosce have traditionally lived off of agriculture and fishing, tourism is becoming more and more important due to the beautiful coastline. Several pebble beaches surrounded by pine trees in the place itself, accommodation in hotels, apartments and camping sites, as well as numerous sports facilities attract many tourists to Zivogosce. Zivogosce is ideal, not only for a family holiday, but also for an active holiday due to many sports fields, sports equipment and diverse activities in hotels. If you feel like unwinding in the evening, have dinner in one of several excellent restaurants or konobas (local restaurants), and take a walk along the sea. The locals will make sure to organize many cultural and entertainment events during summer.
We recommend: ruins of an Illyrian settlements in the old part of the settlement / epigram from Roman times chiseled into a rock by the sea / medieval tower in the old part of the settlement and typical examples of Mediterranean architecture, such as stone houses and narrow streets / 18th century Franciscan monastery / Baroque parish church with an old library and archive / places nearby: Makarska, Drvenik, Podgora and Gradac
How to get there: 17 km south of Makarska on the main road towards Dubrovnik |
