Island of Zut
|
| | Zut, one of the islands of the Kornati archipelago, lies between the island of Pasman, connected to the mainland by boat via Ugljan, and the island of Kornat. It has an area of 15km2, it is only 2 km wide and its highest point is 172 meters. Its steep and well-indented shoreline is dotted with numerous coves such as Luka, Hiljaca, Saruscica, Zut, Bizikovica and others. All of them are suitable for Robinson Crusoe types of holidays and provide shelter for fishing boats and small yachts. There are no permanent settlements on this island that is covered with olive and fig trees, as well as grapes. Fishermen and shepherds, pickers of olives and figs from the island of Murter occasionally come to the island. Since Kornati is extremely popular with boaters, Zut has a marina with some 120 berths. Therefore, Zut is ideal for all of those coming by their own or rented boat. The surrounding waters, as well as the entire Kornati archipelago, are perfect for water sports.
