| | Sucuraj (island of Hvar)
| | |
Sucuraj is a small harbor and tourist destination placed in the bay of the same name on the eastern part of the island of Hvar that is connected to the mainland by ferry lines from Split and Drvenik. Hvar is known as Croatia's sunniest island and is famous for lavender, wine, honey and olive oil. Apart from fishing, wine growing and agriculture, the inhabitants of Sucuraj live off of tourism. The bays of Mosevcica, Mlaska, Bristova and Pokrivnik nearby have wonderful sandy beaches, therefore, Sucuraj is a great destination for families with small children. You will be served homegrown food and fish caught by local fishermen. Accommodation can be found in private rooms and apartments, as well as in the Mlaska camping site.
We recommend: part of the Augustinian Monastery from the 16th century / 16th century fortification walls around the settlement / Sv. Ante Baroque church / surrounding places: Bogomolje and Gdinj / coastal places: Makarska and Drvenik
How to get there: by ferry line Drvenik - Sucuraj |
