| | Rakalj (Marcana)
| | | Rakalj lies in Istria on the western coast of Raski bay, a few kilometers from the sea and 30 km from Pula. Rakalj was first mentioned in the 12th century and used to be known for Istria's traditional pottery. It is often visited by tourists due to its cultural heritage and ethnographic collection of old artifacts found in Istria. Thanks to beautiful landscapes in its surroundings, rich flora and fauna, as well as excellent hunting grounds, Rakalj is suitable for agrotourism.
We recommend: Baroque parish church / Rakalj citadel from 1312 / Medulin, Pula and Liznjan nearby / old Istrian towns: Barban, Labin and Zminj
How to get there: 30 km from Pula and 12 km northeast of Marcana on the local road Krnica - Liznjan - Pula |
