| | Pomena (island of Mljet)
| | | Welcome to Pomena, a place and harbor on the western coast of the island of Mljet that is connected to the city of Dubrovnik by daily boat lines. Pomena lies in the bay of the same name, suitable for anchoring smaller yachts. The place has some 50 inhabitants who primarily live off of agriculture, fishing and tourism, the latter gaining more and more importance. You can find both private and hotel accommodation in Pomena, where you will also find sports fields, where you can rent bicycles, canoes and surfboards, or take a sailing or diving course. Pomena is, like the entire island of Mljet, part of which has been proclaimed a National Park, surrounded by a dense Aleppo pine forest. The well-known Malo lake is only 200 meters away from the hotel in Pomena. We recommend a holiday in Pomena to those who would like to spend their summer in the vicinity of tourist centers like Dubrovnik, where numerous cultural and entertainment events take place, and yet would like to enjoy their privacy and tranquillity.
We recommend: Malo lake / Veliko lake / Mljet National Park / Peljesac peninsula / Dubrovnik and its shoreline / Elafiti group of islands
How to get there: 2 km west of Govedari on the island's main road |
