| NEW YEAR'S EVE 2004 IN CROATIA
Once again this year, on the main squares of all larger towns, New Year's Eve celebrations will be organized. Therefore, all of those who like informal celebration will have the opportunity to step into the new 2005 accompanied by concerts by popular Croatian musicians and entertainment programs with prize competitions. Here is our selection of possible places for awaiting 2005…
DUBROVNIK - Something for Everybody
On the popular Stradun and on the square Trg od fontane located at the end of Mali Stradun, 2005 will be awaited accompanied by popular music performed by the band 'Prljavo kazaliste' and Dalmatian men's choirs (klape). The tent with a wide selection of food and drinks will be located in the large central park. Accompanied by the music of Slavonian tamburitza players, the luckiest New Year's lottery ticket will be drawn on the first day of the New Year and the winner will receive a 'Polo' automobile. Restaurants and night clubs are preparing attractive celebrations with specially selected menus, while rich and diverse programs await you in several of Dubrovnik's hotels such as Grand Villa Argentina, Excelsior, Adriatic and Park, as well as in the hotel complex Babin Kuk.
RIJEKA - Skate into the New Year
Rijeka and its inhabitants will await the new 2005 accompanied by a concert by Oliver Dragojevic, the band "E.N.I" from Rijeka and another popular Croatian musician whose name will, for the time being, remain a secret. A particular attraction this year is the skating rink that will be opened on the location of Gat Karoline Rijecke, meaning that ice-skating enthusiasts will literally be able to skate into the New Year! The 600 square meter skating rink will be covered by a tent, while the youngest will skate for free.
OPATIJA - Celebration with Style
Opatija will await 2005 in a real Istrian way. The celebration on the summer stage (Ljetna pozornica), with traditional catering services on stands, as well as the bands "Kokumeri" and "Gustafi" will, besides entering the New Year, be an excellent opportunity to celebrate 160 year long tradition of organized tourism. We congratulate the inhabitants of Opatija! Pula's city stage with attractive musical program and numerous performers will be set up on the main square Forum, while the celebration will begin at 21h. The beginning of the New Year will be celebrated with extravagant fireworks. Besides the public celebration, hotels are preparing programs with gala diners, prize competitions, bingo competitions and plenty of great music.
ZAGREB
Zagreb will, as always, organize a New Year's Eve celebration on its main square, while children will, during all of December, be able to make cards and jewellery in the company of Santa Claus. Apart from the public open-air celebration and performances by popular musicians, bars and night clubs such as Hemingway organize celebrations for young people. Those who prefer indoor celebrations with specially selected menus and delicious wines, accompanied by evergreens, can choose among hotels and restaurants.
