| | Mali Iz (island of Iz) | | | Mali Iz, a place on the island of Iz near Zadar, lies on the northern side of the island that is connected to the mainland by ferry lines. The place has almost 200 inhabitants who live off of agriculture and fishing. Mali Iz has been inhabited since ancient times and examples of early Croatian architecture that can be found on the entire island bear witness to this. Furthermore, the island is known for specially made and decorated ceramic artifacts. We recommend it for a quiet family holiday, away from the hustle and bustle of larger tourist destinations. Since there are some ten islets and cliffs around Iz, passionate boaters and divers will have plenty to explore, while Iz is a good starting point for trips to Kornati National Park.
We recommend: 9th century Sv. Marija chapel/ castle and chapel Sv. Ana / place of Veli Iz nearby / Zadar / Kornati National Park
How to get there: from the ferry port Veli Iz: 6 km to the east on the island's main road |
