| | | Picturesque Kastel Stari is the oldest of seven settlements placed on the beautiful coastline between Trogir and Split. The settlement first developed on fertile flatland suitable for the growing of grapes and fruit. Due to its splendid beaches, Croatian aristocrats built many summer residences and fortifications in Kastel Stari in the 15th century. The beaches of Kastel Riviera stretch for 6 km and encompass many bays and swimming areas surrounded by pine trees and are perfect for water sports (equipment can be rented on the beaches). Furthermore, you can play tennis and other sports in facilities nearby. We recommend Kastel Stari for a family holiday. The vicinity of Split, central Dalmatia's tourist center, offers plenty of various cultural and entertainment events, as well as numerous places to unwind.
