Kanfanar
| | | Kanfanar, a small town not far from Rovinj, in Istria's hilly interior, lies at the height of 280 m above Limski channel. Kanfanar has about 500 inhabitants who engage in growing organic food. We recommend it to those who like nature, green meadows, cycling and hiking since the sea is some 20 km away. The small town of Dvigrad, famous for its archeological sites lies in the immediate vicinity. Kanfanar is known for its traditional festival "Jakovljevo" that takes place in July, when an exhibition of autochthonous cattle from Istria is organized. Boskarin, the autochthonous cattle from Istria, has been placed on the list of protected species because it is in danger of becoming extinct.
We recommend: Rovinj / Dvigrad / Limski channel
How to get there: 20 km northeast of Rovinj at the crossing of Istria's main road (Istarski ipsilon) and a local road |
