Bakarac, located not far from Rijeka in the bay of Bakarac, is a place surrounded by green landscapes with spacious gardens in front of private holiday houses. There is a well-kept beach in the place itself. While in Bakarac, you can find accommodation in private rooms and apartments, as well in a motel or camping site. Since it is an old settlement, ruins of Roman buildings can be found above the place. Vineyards in the vicinity are fenced with the so-called "suhozid" - a special way of building walls of stone without the use of binding materials. This was necessary in order to keep the land from eroding. If you decide to spend this year's holiday in Bakarac, make sure to take part in the Fishermen's Festival (Ribarska festa) - you are sure to have a great time.
