Kostrena (Rijeka)

Kostrena, placed at one end of the Bakarski bay, is some 10 km from the city of Rijeka. It is located at the south-western, slightly inclined part of the Kvarner coast, between the Martinscica inlet and the Cape of Srsica. Kostrena, part of the wider Rijeka area, has been inhabited since Roman times and has a centuries-old maritime tradition. Nowadays, on this part of the coast, there are swimming beaches and sports facilities in the bays of Zurkovo, Svezanj and Podurinj, while the place itself has a well-protected harbor.
